Prof. Dr. Kevin Tang Nominated for HHU Teaching Award
Prof. Dr. Kevin Tang has been nominated for the HHU Teaching Award (Lehrpreis) by the university’s Service Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (SeLL). As part of the nomination, students praised Prof. Tang’s dynamic and inclusive teaching approach. One student noted:
“His lessons are always exciting as he incorporates activities that motivate us and make learning interesting. His teaching style is very task-oriented and encourages participation, collaboration, and critical thinking.”

The annual HHU Teaching Award, coordinated by SeLL, honors outstanding contributions to teaching across the university. Students are invited to nominate instructors from all disciplines, including adjunct and early-career faculty. The prize is awarded in four categories, each endowed with €10,000:
- Large-scale courses with a lecture-style format
- Small-group, participatory teaching formats such as seminars and practicals
- Young academics (temporary contracts, without Venia Legendi)
- E-Learning (hein@ward)
Prof. Tang has been nominated in the E-Learning category.
